Finish up that summer reading and gas up the bus fleet—the first day of school is upon us! And while some of America’s future leaders are already back in classrooms, there’s still time to get them prepared for what will certainly be the most productive school year to date.

We announced today crossing the 2 million subscriber mark. Why is this significant, you ask?

Here’s what the number represents to us:

- two million mobile subscribers have given us permission to communicate with them on a regular basis
- two million mobile subscribers receive interesting and relevant content and advertising messages from us each day
- the click-through rates have always been in the double digits and consistently average around 20%

By now we have all seen the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Games and have enjoyed some of the televised coverage…but did you know that Mobile Posse is covering the Olympics in our own unique and interesting way? We highlight key events and keep our customers up-to-date on the latest medal counts each morning so you are prepared when you stop by the water cooler…or when you go back to the coffee station for your 2nd cup. Now you can skip all the commercials each night and just wait for your morning update and still be in the know.

We’re often asked, “what does your company do?” I find that the best way to answer this question is to illustrate the value that Mobile Posse creates for its stakeholders.

The goal of all companies is to create value for their stakeholders. The trick in achieving this goal is (1) communicating a clear and concise message that convinces them to give your product or service a try and (2) delivering measurable value to stakeholders. At Mobile Posse we strive to do so every day.

This week we sent our first ever mobile giving request. We provided our customers with an easy way that they could use text messaging to send $10 to the Red Cross to benefit the victims of the Haiti earthquake. It is amazing to see the changes in fundraising that the mobile industry has provided. By some reports it is said that almost 10% of the relief effort for Haiti has come through mobile giving. At last count over $30 million dollars has been raised.
