Apple at the moment is not leading the rankings of smartphone vendors when it comes to shipments, but when it comes to mindshare, especially in North America, the company continues to blow away the competition, according to a new survey. Meanwhile, a separate piece of research—which did not include Apple’s mobile devices—found that HTC and Motorola models are scoring highest with users.

Mobile Posse Partners with STATS: McLean, Va.-based Mobile Posse, which provides advertising and content for a phone’s idle screen, said today it partnered with STATS, sports information provider. Mobile Posse has found in surveys that current subscribers of the service value sport scores and sports content, and produce a click-through rate of about 20 percent.
