Weather services and information provider WeatherBug announced an agreement with Mobile Posse to extend meteorological data across the mobile idle-screen content and advertising provider's service. The WeatherBug/Mobile Posse partnership will enable a range of ad-supported sponsorships, enabling advertisers to attach their brands to localized weather coverage delivered via idle-screen messages. According to a recent Nielsen Mobile Media report, 18.4 million U.S. mobile subscribers accessed weather-themed mobile websites in August 2008 alone.
