I have made a small angel investment in this cool new company, Mobile Posse. It is a company founded by Jon Jackson, a former AOL and MTV executive, and it too employs several AOL alumni. My good friend Jack Davies, founder of AOL International and a partner in our sports franchises, sits on their board. Raul Fernandez is also heavily involved.

It is great to see so many former AOLers starting companies and joining startups. It is injecting a jolt of adrenaline into the local economy. The mobile ad space will be a hot one and Mobile Posse has first mover advantage and a very unique business model. There is a lot of activity in this space today in China and I am sure that service/utility type of advertising services will be welcomed by consumers and appreciated by carriers in the US.
